Despite the recent snow the work has continued on at Craigieburn, and contractors have completed the new forest track that now links the bush to the open farm paddocks. Delta has done an excellent job of laying in the new gravel surface which is a gentle undulating walk that links Craigieburn to the Ross Creek network. The new track will take a few weeks to settle in and while it is not “officially” open people have already been curious to see where this new track link will take them. The track complements the new stairs built by the project team on the other existing track to the Rimu forest area. New signage and markers will be in position over the next few months as the project begins gearing up for its official opening in late October this year. While the track settles and there are still a few clean up jobs that need completion, people are asked to take extra care if they venture into the area.
