The Craigieburn heritage project took another step forward last week with the completion of new track stairs by Delta contracting staff. The stairs have greatly improved a steep and dangerous area of the track from the old ruin into the rimu forest. Previously, the area had been a very steep and slippery section that limited the ability of people to walk safely down into the rimu area. The stairs are part of the Craigieburn development project and Delta generously discounted the total cost of construction. The project team have received enthusiastic feedback from track users about the newly installed stairs. Over the next 4-5 weeks further work will be undertaken to complete the link track within the Craigieburn property to the existing tracks used by many who access the area from the established Ross Creek tracks. Happy walking everyone.
