Thanks People!

Thanks for ’embracing your settler spirit’ today. The weather turned out nice and hipflasks weren’t required. It was great to have Nora Burgess and Virginia Perry there today  along with their families who travelled from far and wide to be there.  We  hope you enjoyed your visit and that you’ll come back and see the area again. To all our other visitors and Society members thank you for showing your support for a little piece of colonial history with a great story to tell.

  1. I’m a direct descendant of this branch of the Sherriff family and have done lots of research into our family life on this site, and later developments in this immediate area by George, Robert & Elizabeth etc, I’d have flown down from Tauranga to attend this event- if I’d known about it. Can I be kept informed of any developments with this reserve?
    regards, Brent

  2. Hi Brent
We’d be happy to keep in touch and let you know what is happening at Craigieburn. It would be great to hear your stories about the area too. The open day was a great way for people to see the area and we were really lucky with the weather. I will keep you informed of the activity on the site. Email me at
